hey y'all!
so now that i got my sappy post out of the way, i’ll tell you how i do it.

for my first trip, i grinded it out every weekend working at the winery serving wine, working at fresco slinging bowls during the week, and helping run signor’s socials—all to save as much as i could to pay for everything on my own while traveling. by this point, i had been helping with signor’s social media for maybe 8 months and had created my first website for a fencing business in the area. this is when i decided to make a run for spain. erica encouraged me to go, and thankfully, they still wanted me to help with socials while i was traveling. this is when my million-dollar business plan was born.
i saw that i was able to balance traveling and social media. having a little bit of cash flow wasn’t too bad either. so, when i came home from spain three months later, i picked up right where i left off. i went back to the wineries on the weekends and got a different job at a new restaurant during the week while finishing my last semester of senior year. i started to get serious about running business socials and creating websites. this is when i began making those relationships with potential clients and sending out my first invoices.
by the end of senior year, i was balancing four clients, still working my weekend and week jobs. now looking back, i have no clue how i did all that while finishing my last semester of school- and balancing a social life. mad woman.
i graduated, quit my week job, and moved home to kerrville. this is when i got my 5th client and did some market research, realized i was the cheapest idiot on the market. in my defense, i was building my portfolio, so it made sense to charge a lower rate.
but i was just a baby, and i had an itch to travel. so, i booked my next flight, grabbed my aunt, and we were off to italy! i loved this era- it was so peaceful. i’d wake up, work, walk, meditate, have lunch, walk more, read, and lay in the hammock under the trees. five o’clock would hit, and dee would have the wine open almost to the second. i'd cook us dinner, work some more, and then go to bed to do it all over again. i had finally figured it out. i could travel and make money. best idea ever. THANK YOU, PAIGE!
