hey y'all!
why yes, i did. & you didn’t ask, but i’m more than happy to overshare all about it.
i was traveling europe with my best girlfriend from college and two of my guy friends from high school. our euro era was coming to an end, and i knew i was not ready for that. so i did what any twenty-something does when they need information—I went straight to TikTok and looked up "surf camps in costa rica." i spam-dmed maybe 15 of them and heard back from 5. all i did was pitch that i travel full-time with professional camera equipment and run social media for a living.

within the next few days, i was on the phone with michael (best guy ever). he is one of the faces of dreamsea. he offered me this position within ten minutes on the phone and told me to get to camp within the next week. so, i booked a flight home, swapped out my clothes, and b-lined for costa rica. wait, wait- I saw my grandma first, THEN i b-lined for costa rica.
at dreamsea surf camp, i was the creative director. i oversaw a team of four people: one photographer, one videographer, one assistant, and me. i ran the socials, and they kindly flooded me with content that i then strung together for instagram and facebook posts. since i traveled with all of my equipment, i also shot, edited, and, of course, created. i was there from the end of november to the beginning of february- almost three months. i posted super consistently for those 11 weeks, with multiple stories and a post or two a day. i enjoyed this job beyond words. i find so much joy in being creative, and it means even more when i’m creating content with people i love, both in the photos and all around me.

i will say, costa rica changed my life. it changed the way i react and act toward situations. i’ve learned to love the slow life and to not take things too seriously, because at the end of the day, God already has everything sorted. worrying will only cause stress. my motto: it is never that serious- until it is.
i am so grateful for michael and all the opportunities he has given me. and not just with
working at the camp, but with learning other cultures, experiencing new things, and making deep, meaningful relationships. time that i will never get back, but i will yearn to repeat for the rest of my life. i am just SO grateful. THANK YOU, MICHAEL!!
p.s. i will miss your podcasts
